Tour Wallblake House in The Valley

    Wallblake House

Built in 1787, this is Anguilla's oldest surviving plantation house, with restored kitchen, stables and slave quarters. Tours are not offered every day, so book ahead. Allow about an hour and go in the morning before the heat.

    Swim at calm Crocus Bay

    Crocus Bay

A sheltered cove just north of The Valley with quiet water, good for swimming or kayaking. It is also where boats leave for Little Bay, a cliff-lined cove for snorkelling. Check with the boat operators for current trips and prices.

Lunch at Blanchard's Beach Shack on Meads Bay

    Blanchard's Beach Shack

This casual spot on elegant Meads Bay serves comfort food at friendlier prices than the nearby resorts. Count on roughly 10 to 20 US dollars for a meal. Go before the lunch rush, then swim in the clear water.

  4. 4

    Sunset on Rendezvous Bay

    Rendezvous Bay

Finish on a long, calm stretch of sand with views across to St Martin. The Dune Preserve beach bar is known for its Sunday reggae from about 4 pm, but check that it is open before you plan around it. Bring a light layer for the evening.
